About Satamgati

Two medicines. One question: where did it start?

Meet the founder:
Dr. Nikolai Romasco

KNOWN TO HIS STUDENTS AS SATAMGATI DAS

I trained as a doctor in Chișinău, Moldova, and worked in emergency care and family medicine. Hospital medicine taught me to act fast and to respect what tests show. I also wanted to understand why an imbalance begins in the first place, and that question led me further.

I had begun Zhong Yuan Qigong in my first years of medical school. The practice led me to Master Xu Mingtang, to Asia, and to Beijing, where I studied and later taught Chinese medicine. I have now worked with both medicines for more than 25 years. With every person my aim is the same: find the root, treat it, and give you a way to keep yourself well.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree, Medical Institute in Chișinău, Moldova
  • Emergency care and family medicine in public hospitals, Moldova (2007–2008)
  • Zhong Yuan Qigong, student of Master Xu Mingtang
  • Study and teaching of Chinese medicine at the Kundawell Medical Research Institute, Beijing (2010–2013)
  • Retreats at the Shaolin Temple; pilgrimage through China, Nepal, India and Tibet (2003–2005)
  • Reflexology and Tibetan medicine with Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche
  • Student of Paramahamsa Vishwananda since 2016

What you can expect from me

I will explain what I find in words you understand. I will tell you honestly how long treatment is likely to take, and when this is not the right path for you. If the diagnosis shows something that belongs in a hospital, I will send you there first. Chinese medicine rests on a simple idea: the body keeps trying to return to balance. My work is to find what blocks that return.

The long way round

In 1998, in Moldova, I did my first Zhong Yuan Qigong training in the lineage of Master Xu Mingtang. From 2003 to 2005 I travelled through China, Nepal, India and Tibet, practising at the Shaolin Temple and receiving rare shaktipat initiations in remote monasteries. I studied reflexology and Tibetan medicine with Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche. From 2010 to 2013 I was at the Kundawell Institute in Beijing, first as a student of Chinese medicine, then as a teacher. I went East to understand why people get sick. I came back with ways to see it, and a practice that helps people stay well.

Through the grace of the Master

Since 2016 I have been a student of Paramahamsa Vishwananda. He gave me the name Satamgati Das. Satām gatiḥ, “the refuge of the good”, is one of the names of Vishnu, and Das means servant. For me, healing is also service: every person who comes to me should be met with the same care I received from my teachers.

Why people choose Dr. Satamgati

A doctor's training and a living tradition, in one room

A diagnosis in the first hour

Pulse, tongue and image-based diagnosis, refined over more than 25 years. You leave the first session knowing what is out of balance.

Treatment aimed at the cause

The plan works on the pattern behind your symptoms, so you stop treating one complaint at a time.

A medical doctor, too

His Western training means he knows what Chinese medicine can do, what it can’t, and when you need a hospital.

Your own practice

Zhong Yuan Qigong lets you continue at home, so your health does not depend only on appointments.

Stories from the practice

What changed for them

Lidia's lungs

Lidia came with severe pulmonary emphysema and could barely breathe. After six months of hands-on treatment and herbal medicine, her new X-ray looked so different that her doctors first thought it belonged to someone else.

Yuri's liver

Yuri was being treated in Germany for liver cirrhosis and hepatitis B, C and D. For a year and a half he came for treatment, changed his diet, took herbs and practised qigong. At his next check-up in Germany, his doctors could not explain how much had changed.

Knowing when to send you on

In one first consultation, the diagnosis raised a concern Dr. Satamgati would not ignore. He sent the patient for imaging, which confirmed cancer. Seeing clearly also means knowing when a case belongs in a hospital.
